Job summary

MGC Contractors, Inc. is seeking Pipe Layers to join the Texas Division serving the Alamogordo, NM area. The role involves installing water lines and sewers, aligning and grading pipes, and ensuring proper joints, slope, and flow. The candidate should have aHigh School Diploma or GED and 2–3 years of underground piping experience, with 3+ years preferred. Occasional overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of related experience laying underground water lines, sanitary or storm sewers.
• 3+ years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install mechanical joint water line, bolt together sections, and install valves.
• Grade for flow of sewer lines and prepare pipe for installation.
• Lay ductile and PVC pipes, align and grade for water and sewer systems.
• Plan pipe installation or repair according to specifications.
• Check slopes and ensure proper alignment; select pipe sizes per specs.
• Inspect and test installed systems; perform job duties as assigned.
