Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC in North Carolina seeks a water and sewer infrastructure technician to perform inspection, installation, repair and maintenance of water and sewer systems across municipal and industrial sites. The role involves fieldwork, safety training and on-site problem solving.

You will operate heavy equipment, respond to emergency calls on rotation, maintain valves, meters, and hydrants, and ensure regulatory compliance while advancing health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3–5+ years in water and sewer collection systems.
• Must obtain NC Distribution and/or Collection System certifications or have them.
• Valid NC Driver's License; Class A CDL or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Water system support: meter reading, flushing programs, valve exercising, hydrant maintenance, pressure testing, and related inspections.
• Sewer maintenance: cleaning/inspections of mains and laterals, CCTV, root removal.
• Infrastructure repair: repair/replace pipes, manholes, meters, and service lines.
• Emergency and compliance: respond to breaks/backups/spills and inspections for grease traps/backflow preventers.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergencies.
• Operate heavy equipment including track excavators, dump trucks, and sewer jetters.
