Job summary
City of Dothan is seeking a maintenance worker to assist in building and maintaining the city’s water distribution and wastewater collection systems. The role involves hands-on work with sanitary sewers, water lines, meters, valves, hydrants, and related equipment, including after-hours calls and emergency responses.

Qualifications
- > Graduation from a standard senior-high school or GED.
- > Six (6) months recent experience in installation, repair and inspection of utility work including water/sewer systems or plumbing.
- > Certificate from Vocational High School or Diploma/Certificate from Technical College in welding, plumbing, pump maintenance, mechanics, electric, or related field; or military training.
Responsibilities
- Assists in construction, repair, and maintenance of sanitary sewer and/or potable water lines.
- Locates underground utilities and inspects/maintains water and sewer lines and meters.
- Responds to emergency storm/outage situations and to after-hours calls.
- Disinfects water mains and completes reports in Cityworks.
