Job summary

City of Dayton is seeking qualified applicants for a Water & Sewer Worker role. The job involves leading a crew in repair, operation, maintenance and installation of Water Utility assets, mentoring newer workers, and responding to emergencies around the clock.

Training on complex data systems is provided. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and substantial experience in water systems or relevant City of Dayton classifications with required certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school (or G.E.D.).
• Experience requirements include five years in construction and/or operation/maintenance/repair of water, wastewater or storm water systems or two years in City of Dayton Water & Sewer Worker I/II with relevant Ohio certifications.

Responsibilities

• Leads a crew in skilled tasks related to Water Utility assets.
• Mentors and assists training for Water & Sewer Worker I/II positions.
• Responds to on-call emergencies 24/7 and learns complex data software systems.
