Job summary

The YMCA of the Pikes Peak region is seeking a Swim Instructor to teach swimming and water safety to participants of all ages. You will supervise students, provide progress feedback, and maintain equipment and safety standards in the pool area.

Ideal candidates have a current WSI or YMCA Swim Instructor credential or relevant teaching experience, with strong patience and communication skills to engage families and learners. A supportive, community-focused environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16.
• WSI Certification or YMCA Swim Instructor experience required.
• Proficient in swimming and water safety skills.
• Ability to recognize and respond to hazards in pool environments.
• Excellent communication with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide swimming and water safety instruction to participants of all ages.
• Maintain constant supervision of students to ensure safety.
• Provide feedback on progress and report incidents as needed.
• Set up, take down and organize class equipment; report damage.
• Attend staff meetings and training; adhere to policies.
