Job summary

The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is seeking an experienced Swim Instructor to teach swimming and water safety to participants of all ages. You will evaluate performance, provide feedback, and ensure safety through constant supervision and adherence to safety rules.

Responsibilities include planning activities aligned with YMCA standards, maintaining equipment, and communicating progress to families. A patient, enthusiastic communicator will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Requires WSI or YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent teaching experience.
• Proficient in swimming and water safety practices.
• Strong ability to communicate with students, parents, and caregivers.
• Demonstrated patience and ability to motivate learners of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Provide swimming and water safety instruction to students of all ages.
• Maintain constant supervision to ensure safety in the pool area.
• Report attendance, progress, and any incidents accurately.
• Set up and organize class equipment; report damages.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Follow YMCA policies, including safety and emergencies.
• Provide ongoing feedback to participants and caregivers.
