Job summary

Southwest Florida Water Management District is seeking a Field Technician to collect groundwater and surface water samples, install and calibrate data collection equipment, and support project management. The role requires field travel across west-central Florida and collaboration with multiple teams to protect water resources.

The starting salary bands range from $38k to $58k depending on the Field Technician level, with benefits including medical/dental, leave, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; related work experience preferred for some levels.
• Valid driver’s license required; willingness to travel within the District area.
• Ability to operate data collection equipment and follow protocols.

Responsibilities

• Apply District and state protocols for data and sample collection.
• Install, calibrate and maintain data collection equipment and related components.
• Collect project site information in the field and document findings.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic data collection equipment.
• Participate in emergency management activities and other duties as assigned.
