Job summary

Southwest Florida Water Management District is seeking a Field Technician to collect groundwater and surface water samples across the district. The role involves installing, calibrating and maintaining data collection equipment and supporting project management.

You’ll work with multiple teams to protect Florida’s vital water resources. The position requires fieldwork in varied conditions, potential travel, and adherence to district protocols.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year related work experience for Technician 2; 3 years for Technician 3; 4 years for Technician 4.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply district and state protocols for data and sample collection.
• Install, calibrate and maintain data collection equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic data collection equipment.
• Collect site information and document findings.
• Work in office and field environments with travel to remote sites.
• Support emergency management activities as needed.
