Job summary

Walter P Moore is seeking an Engineering Intern in Water Resources to join our team in the Houston, Dallas, or Fort Worth offices. You will collaborate with project teams on public water and drainage projects, performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, FEMA studies, and related design tasks while participating in our staff development program.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering or higher, with knowledge of hydrology principles, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Solid technical background with strong written and oral communication.
  • Understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles; Excel familiarity.
  • Experience with civil site development or drainage studies is beneficial.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM5 and/or ArcGIS preferred.
  • BS in Civil Engineering or coursework.
  • Graduate program in Civil Engineering (Water Resources emphasis preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Available for a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Participate with project teams on water and drainage projects.
  • Contribute to hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, FEMA studies, roadway drainage design.
  • Engage in in-house staff development program.
  • Support public infrastructure projects.
