Job summary

Baxter & Woodman offers a Water Resources Engineering Internship across Crystal Lake, Chicago, Naperville, or Mokena, IL offices. You will support the water resources group with design and construction of stormwater facilities and work directly with firm clients.

This on-the-job experience provides a well-rounded background in engineering through field work, design, and collaboration with multiple technical departments, including CAD, Infrastructure, and Transportation teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year Civil Engineering degree.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Available to start May 2027.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Chicago area.
• Ability to work in a team on multiple projects.
• Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with evaluation, study, and design of stormwater systems.
• Perform field studies and design of stormwater infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Transportation, CAD, and other departments.
• Support construction activities including quantity computation, layout, survey, and inspection.
