Job summary

Lower Colorado River Authority’s Water Engineering team seeks a Water Resources Engineer to support planning, design, and operation of Arbuckle Reservoir and major water projects. You will contribute from planning through construction, with mentorship, training, and opportunities to advance toward PE licensure.

The role emphasizes hands-on project life-cycle work, site visits, and collaboration with senior engineers to develop practical solutions for water resources challenges in Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, biosystems engineering, mathematical or physical sciences or related science.
• FE exam or EIT certification.
• Pursuing PE license.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and designs related to water resources, water conveyance, and development of cost estimates.
• Review and summarize existing reports related to development of new water resources.
• Support infrastructure through investigation of technical issues and development of practical solutions.
• Work on design and construction of pump stations, pipelines and reservoirs.
• Provide engineering support during construction including site visits and witnessing tests.

How You’ll Contribute

• Perform engineering calculations and designs related to water resources, water conveyance, and development of cost estimates. Review project plans and specifications.
• Review and summarize existing reports related to development of new water resources.
• Support LCRA's existing water infrastructure through investigation of technical issues and development of practical solutions.
• Work on the design and construction of new pump stations, pipeline projects and reservoirs.
• Provide engineering support during construction including visiting project construction sites, visiting equipment fabrication shops, visiting hydraulic labs, witnessing material and equipment tests.

How You’re Qualified

• Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science.
• Driver's license

How You’ll Stand Out

• Passed the FE exam or hold your EIT certification.
• Actively pursuing your PE license.
• A four‑year college degree in civil engineering, with an emphasis on water resource engineering or environmental engineering.
