Job summary

Horrocks seeks a Professional Engineer – Water Resources to lead design and analysis of water, pumping, storage facilities and sewer systems in Albuquerque, NM. The role emphasizes hydraulics/hydrology modeling, interdisciplinary collaboration, and client/stakeholder coordination across multiple offices.

The successful candidate will have a civil engineering degree (ABET-accredited) and a PE license, with 2–4+ years in water systems design and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program.
• PE license is required.
• Experience and relationships with municipalities, water agencies, tribes, and flood control agencies preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and water system modeling software.
• Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic tools (HEC-1/2, HEC-RAS, Flow2d).
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact with clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Willingness to work locally or in workshare with other offices.
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze waterlines, pumping, storage facilities, and sewer systems.
• Model hydraulics and hydrology for various water resources projects.
• Prepare studies, plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Support project managers with client relations and coordination.
• Interface with state and local agencies and stakeholders.
• Lead meetings and coordinate with offices and sub-consultants.
• Assist in proposals, including scope, schedule, and budget.
