Job summary

Kleinfelder is hiring an Entry Level Water Resources Engineer-In-Training in Texas. The role supports hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater systems, and BMPs, gaining hands-on experience with planning, analysis, and design under the guidance of experienced engineers.

The position uses ArcGIS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, XPSWMM, and InfoWorks ICM to deliver solutions that protect and enhance communities served by Kleinfelder’s multi-office teams. A FE passing score or plan to pass within six months is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or ability to pass within six months.

Responsibilities

• Assist project professionals with analysis, design, and technical tasks across multiple water resources projects.
• Ask questions and seek knowledge from team members to apply best approaches and parameter selections.
• Seek direction on deadlines and time allotted for completion of tasks.
• Develop understanding of effort required and reasoning for differing approaches.
• Participate in peer reviews to ensure quality work and identify issues before next steps.
• Track and complete concurrent tasks while staying detail-oriented and meeting deadlines.
• Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and ethical practices.
• Stay current in engineering practice through continuing education and professional development.
