Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Water Resources Engineer-in-Training for summer 2027 to join our team. You will work on stormwater modeling, drainage design, flood studies, and watershed analyses under supervision.

The role involves contributing to 2D hydraulic analyses and master planning for multiple states. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited), familiarity with MicroStation/AutoCAD/Revit, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program
• General knowledge of required design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Good communication and technical writing skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Apply hydrologic and hydraulic computations, reports, and modeling (drainage improvement, watershed evaluation, bridge and culvert replacements, floodplain modeling).
• Design and prepare construction drawings for water resources projects.
• Develop multiple deliverables including plans, specs, technical reports and cost estimates within schedule and budget.
• Support open and closed drainage design, flood studies, FEMA compliance documentation and scour analysis.
• Collaborate with a diverse team across active projects in NC, SC, TN, GA, FL, VA, DE.
