Job summary

HDR invites a Water Resources Engineer to join our Water Business Group in Colorado. You will apply hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for flood risk reduction, prepare technical reports, and support project management across multidisciplinary teams. You will coordinate with clients and agencies, collect data, and contribute to permitting efforts.

The role emphasizes the use of current modeling, GIS, and engineering tools to improve workflows and deliverables while upholding HDR quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering or equivalent field.
• Master's in Civil Engineering preferred.
• Proven communication skills for client and team interactions.
• PE or professional license recognized by the licensing board.
• Experience in water resources engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for flood risk reduction and related applications.
• Prepare technical reports and planning documentation.
• Provide project engineering and task management support.
• Coordinate with project managers, leads, and clients.
• Collect and present technical data in reports and meetings.
• QA/QC in accordance with HDR standards.
• Support planning, alternatives evaluation, and permitting efforts.
• Apply modeling and GIS tools to improve workflows.
