Job summary

HDR is seeking a Water Resources Engineer in Austin to advance flood risk reduction, stormwater infrastructure, and watershed planning. You will perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, develop detention facilities, and prepare technical reports while coordinating scope, schedule, and budgets with multidisciplinary teams.

As part of HDR's Water Business Group, you will apply GIS and modeling tools, contribute to planning efforts, and ensure QA/QC in line with project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; PE license required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Active participant in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for flood risk reduction and stormwater projects.
• Develop and evaluate stormwater collection systems and detention facilities.
• Prepare design calculations, reports, and planning documentation.
• Coordinate scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables with project managers and teams.
• Collect, analyze, and present technical data in reports and meetings.
• Conduct QA/QC in line with HDR standards.
• Support planning, alternatives evaluation, and permitting efforts.
• Apply current GIS and modeling tools to improve workflows.
