Job summary

AKRF is seeking a Staff Engineer in the Water Resources group based in our Philadelphia, PA office. You will contribute to the design and management of projects for municipal and private sector clients, working in a collaborative environment that shapes the region’s future.

The role requires 1–4 years of experience, a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Science, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of experience in civil/environmental engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Science or related discipline.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D is essential.
  • Hydrologic/hydraulic analysis/modeling preferred.
  • Experience with municipal ordinances and PA/PADEP standards preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project support for engineering design projects including site layout, grading, drainage systems, and stormwater management.
  • Prepare site/civil drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Prepare permit packages and municipal land development applications.
  • Fieldwork including soil testing and erosion control monitoring; prepare site observation reports.
  • Assist with project management, budgets, and schedules; coordinate with clients and consultants.
