Job summary

AKRF’s Engineering Department in High Bridge, NJ seeks a Civil Project Engineer to work on stormwater management design, grading, drainage, soil erosion control, and land-use projects. The candidate should have 3–5 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor’s in Civil/Water Resources Engineering, and be prepared for both design work and occasional field exposure.

Proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil3D a plus), ArcGIS, and hydrologic tools (SWMM, InfoWorks, HydroCAD) is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Land Development or Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in urban green stormwater infrastructure and related design/planning work.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and ArcGIS is strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license; EIT preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project and technical support for major engineering design projects including site layout, grading, stormwater management, drainage/conveyance system design, and related disciplines.
  • Support development of construction documents and specifications for stormwater management.
  • Support research, operations, regulatory compliance, and program development tasks to supplement core engineering assignments.
  • Assist in budgeting, scheduling, and monitoring deadlines with attention to scope.
  • Represent AKRF through direct client interactions on projects.
  • Contribute to integrated, resilient infrastructure through science and design.
