Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) is seeking a Water Resources Civil Engineer to join our Virginia team across Richmond, Virginia Beach and Williamsburg, with a hybrid work option.

You’ll contribute to a diverse portfolio addressing flooding, water quality, resiliency, and infrastructure modernization. As part of a multidisciplinary Water Resources group, you will work on hydrologic and hydraulic studies, stormwater management, and design of bridges, culverts, and MS4 support, gaining hands-on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in civil/environmental/water resources engineering.
• 1+ years of professional experience in water resources or a related field.
• Experience with HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, PCSWMM, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ORD is preferred.
• EIT certification is highly preferred, with interest in pursuing a PE license.

Responsibilities

• Support water resources and civil infrastructure projects from planning through design and construction.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and modeling using industry-standard software.
• Assist with stormwater management, drainage, watershed, floodplain, and flood resilience studies and designs.
• Support the design of stormwater systems, culverts, drainage improvements, and related infrastructure.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, design plans, construction documents, and permit applications.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients, and regulators to develop solutions.
