Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. seeks a Water Resources Civil Engineer to join our Virginia-based team across Richmond, Virginia Beach, and Williamsburg with hybrid work.

You will contribute to flood resilience, water quality, and infrastructure projects, performing hydrologic analyses, design drainage, and development of reports and permit applications. As an early-career engineer, you will collaborate with project managers and clients, gain hands-on experience with HEC-RAS/Hydraulic modeling,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources Engineering or related field is required.
• 1+ years of professional experience in water resources or related field.
• Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and water resources design is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support water resources and civil infrastructure projects from planning through design and construction.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using industry-standard software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HydroCAD, PCSWMM, HY-8, ArcGIS).
• Assist with stormwater management, drainage, watershed, floodplain, and flood resilience studies and designs.
• Support the design of stormwater systems, culverts, drainage improvements, and stream restoration projects.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, design plans, and permit applications.
• Support construction administration and project implementation.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients, and regulatory agencies to develop solutions.
