Job summary

Prince George's County Government's Department of The Environment seeks a Water Resources Engineer I/II to support NPDES and MS4 permit compliance. You will integrate civil engineering with GIS data management to analyze watershed conditions and monitor water quality.

Under supervision, you will prepare reports, develop geodatabases, and collaborate with engineers, GIS staff, and regulators to ensure timely, accurate environmental data delivery for county programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in civil, environmental, water resources or closely related field
• PE license may substitute for degree
• 2+ years of professional experience in engineering and data analysis using GIS and related tools

Responsibilities

• Prepares and reviews engineering designs and GIS analyses for projects.
• Maintains geodatabases supporting environmental programs and MDE reporting.
• Performs spatial analysis to support stormwater management and water quality studies.
• Coordinates with engineers, GIS staff, regulators to ensure compliance and data integrity.
• Inspects project sites and collects spatial/environmental data.
