Job summary

STV’s Water Resources practice seeks a Water Resources Engineer to work on stormwater, hydrologic and hydraulic, floodplain management, and water resources projects. You will analyze watersheds, develop and calibrate models, and support permitting and documentation across municipal and infrastructure initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience in water resources, stormwater, modeling, or floodplain management.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain licensure is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, InfoWorks ICM, SWMM, HydroCAD, or equivalent.
• Experience with floodplain mapping and FEMA flood studies is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for watersheds, drainage systems, streams, rivers, and floodplains.
• Develop, modify, calibrate, and review hydrologic and hydraulic models.
• Perform floodplain studies and mapping analyses for state and local programs.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and construction documents with multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate with municipal, state, and federal agencies during permitting.
• Participate in field investigations and data collection.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Assist project managers with scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
