Job summary

GPD Group in Louisville, KY is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our team. You will work on stream restoration, dam removals, bank stabilization, and stormwater studies for communities and public agencies, delivering watershed solutions to reduce flood risks and improve ecosystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 1–5 years' ecological restoration & project coordination.
• Ability to work with senior engineers and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Desire to work in the field and assess streams.
• CAD/Civil 3D knowledge preferred.
• Grading channels and site design experience a plus.
• Understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater basics.
• Interest in stream morphology and bank stabilization.
• Interest in natural channel design and nature-based restoration.
• Assistance with estimates and budgets.
• Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.
• GIS experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• PE license preferred.
• 7+ years in Federal/Retail/Commercial/Education/Healthcare spaces.

Responsibilities

• Support field investigations, geomorphic assessments, and construction oversight.
• Support grading and corridor development.
• Assist design and construction docs for ecological restoration projects.
• Coordinate design with internal team.
• Collaborate with surveyors, H&H modelers, environmental specialists, and geotechnical crew.
• Support other civil engineering project types including parks and public infrastructure.
• Other duties as assigned.
