Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to advance stormwater and drainage projects in the Southeast. You will work with mentors and multidisciplinary teams to design, model, and document water resources systems, delivering high-quality plans from concept through permit readiness.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of water resources experience, holds an EIT, and seeks growth within a best-in-class engineering firm offering mentoring and career development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • EIT certification required; PE license strongly preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in water resources engineering, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and stormwater design.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D software applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare construction plans and engineering designs for stormwater management, drainage, flood-control, and water resources projects.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support project planning and design.
  • Develop stormwater management reports, drainage studies, and supporting technical documentation.
  • Assist with the preparation of permit applications and coordination with regulatory agencies.
  • Utilize Civil 3D and water resources modeling software to develop and refine project designs.
  • Coordinate regularly with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery.
  • Lead and coordinate design activities, including assigning tasks and monitoring progress of team members.
  • Support project execution to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.

On-site: Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
