Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a Water Resources Engineer Experienced Designer to advance your career in the Southeast. You will design stormwater and drainage projects, perform hydrologic analyses, and collaborate with mentors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful results.

You will lead design activities, coordinate with clients, and contribute to project execution within schedule, budget, and quality objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
• EIT certification required; PE license strongly preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in water resources engineering, hydrologic & hydraulic analysis, and stormwater design.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction plans and designs for stormwater management, drainage, flood-control, and water resources projects.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support planning and design.
• Develop stormwater management reports, drainage studies, and technical documentation.
• Assist with permit applications and regulatory coordination.
• Utilize Civil 3D and modeling software to develop designs and refine projects.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams throughout delivery.
• Lead and coordinate design activities, assign tasks, and monitor progress.

Water Resources Engineer Experienced Designer

What you'll do:

• Prepare construction plans and engineering designs for stormwater management, drainage, flood-control, and water resources projects
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support project planning and design
• Develop stormwater management reports, drainage studies, and supporting technical documentation
• Assist with the preparation of permit applications and coordination with regulatory agencies
• Utilize Civil 3D and water resources modeling software to develop and refine project designs
• Coordinate regularly with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery
• Lead and coordinate design activities, including assigning tasks and monitoring progress of team members
• Support project execution to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• EIT certification required; PE license strongly preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in water resources engineering, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and stormwater design
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D software applications
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skillsProven ability to manage multiple priorities and complete assignments on schedule
