Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. seeks a Water Resources Engineer to support transportation and civil infrastructure projects across Eastern Washington and Idaho, including Boise, Coeur d’Alene, Pocatello, Spokane, and Tri-Cities.

The role focuses on hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, stormwater planning, drainage design, technical documentation, and construction plans, with opportunities to lead tasks and mentor engineers while growing toward leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer license in Idaho or Washington or ability to obtain upon hire.
• 6+ years of relevant drainage, stormwater, hydrology, or hydraulics design experience.
• Experience with engineering calculations, technical documentation, reports, and design drawings.
• Experience with drainage/hydraulic software such as HEC-RAS, SMS:SRH-2D, SUDA, HY-8, Hydraulic Toolbox, PondPack, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/OpenRoads, GIS, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead drainage and stormwater system design for transportation and civil projects.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using established methods.
• Prepare calculations, reports, design plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Develop solutions for drainage, floodplain, and water conveyance projects.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, designers, and drafters to deliver outputs.
• Review client and agency comments and manage tasks across projects.
