Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Designer with 2+ years of experience to support hydrologic and hydraulic studies, and the design of drainage and conveyance infrastructure.

The role involves preparing drawings for civil, transportation, water resources, and utility projects, under the supervision of a Professional Engineer. You will work with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, HEC‑RAS, ArcGIS, and related tools, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑Accredited Program.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Good communication and technical writing skills.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to think critically.

Responsibilities

• Complete hydrologic and hydraulic studies (floodplain, drainage improvement, climate resiliency, dam breach).
• Design and preparation of construction drawings for water resources projects (drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, restoration).
• Work knowledge of Microsoft Office, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, HEC‑RAS, ArcGIS; Civil3D, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads experience preferred.
• Assist in development of multiple projects and plans under supervision of a project engineer or project manager.
• Coordinate work of multiple engineering disciplines and drafting/CADD activities; prepare progress reports; supervise small projects.
• Exhibit strong written and verbal communication; be a self‑motivated dynamic individual.
• EIT certification preferred (ability to obtain PE within two years).
