Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a Water Resources Engineer Experienced Designer to advance your career designing stormwater and drainage projects in the Southeast. You'll collaborate with mentors and multidisciplinary teams and contribute to critical infrastructure while delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

You'll lead design activities, perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, prepare reports, and coordinate with clients to meet schedule, budget and quality goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• EIT certification required; PE license strongly preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in water resources engineering, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and stormwater design.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D software applications.
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction plans and designs for stormwater, drainage, and water resources projects.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support planning and design.
• Develop stormwater management reports and drainage studies.
• Assist with permit applications and regulatory coordination.
• Use Civil 3D and modeling software to refine designs.
• Coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams throughout delivery.
• Lead design activities and monitor team progress.
• Support project execution to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
