Placements24 seeks a Water Resources Civil Engineer to join a prominent engineering firm in Welkom, focusing on sustainable water resources management, hydraulic structures, and wastewater systems across the Free State.

You will design water supply networks, develop hydraulic models, and collaborate with environmental scientists for integrated water solutions. Requires 4+ years in water resources and ECSA registration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Hydraulics.
• Professional registration with ECSA.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in water resources engineering, including design and project management.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, EPANET) and CAD tools.
• Solid understanding of water quality, treatment processes, and environmental impact assessments.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of water supply systems, including reservoirs, pipelines, and treatment facilities.
• Develop hydraulic models for stormwater management, flood control, and riverine systems.
• Plan and design wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
• Conduct hydrological studies and water balance assessments to support water resource planning.
• Prepare technical reports, design drawings, and specifications for water-related infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with environmental scientists, urban planners, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated water management solutions.
