Mannik Smith Group is seeking a Water Resources CAD Technician in Frankfort, KY. You will support design and delivery of stormwater, drainage, and water resources projects under senior staff guidance.

Key duties include creating CAD drawings, developing drainage layouts, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to meet project deadlines. The role offers a flexible schedule and hybrid work option, with opportunities to gain hands-on project exposure from day one.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CAD experience, preferably within water resources or civil/transportation projects.
• Associate's degree or technical certificate in drafting, civil engineering technology, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD and civil design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads/OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar.
• Understanding of drainage and water resources design principles and standards.
• Detail-oriented with strong technical and organizational skills.
• Proficient in spreadsheets and word processing; capable of working in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsabilités

• Develop CAD drawings, plans, and construction documents for water resources and drainage projects under supervision.
• Assist with design of stormwater management systems, storm sewer networks, culverts, and detention facilities.
• Prepare accurate plan sheets, profiles, cross-sections, and quantity takeoffs.
• Develop grading and drainage layouts and coordinate utilities within design models.
• Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, and multidisciplinary teams throughout project development.
• Support field reviews, site data collection, and as-built documentation as needed.
• Help prepare permit exhibits and agency submittal packages.
• Contribute to project deliverables while supporting schedules, budgets, and CAD standards.
• Collaborate with roadway, structural, geotechnical and other engineering disciplines to ensure project success.
