HMB Professional Engineers, LLC in Frankfort, KY, is seeking a Water Resources CAD Technician to support design and delivery of stormwater, drainage, and water resources projects. You will work under senior engineers to develop CAD drawings, plans, and construction documents.

This role offers a hybrid work schedule with opportunities to collaborate across disciplines and coordinate with clients and subconsultants.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CAD experience in water resources or civil/transportation projects.
• Associate's degree or technical certificate in drafting, civil engineering technology, or a related field preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD software: MicroStation, OpenRoads/OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Understanding of drainage and water resources design principles, plan production standards, and applicable design criteria.
• Detail-oriented with strong technical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing, and standard industry software.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team environments and meet project deadlines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop CAD drawings, plans, and construction documents for water resources and drainage projects.
• Design stormwater management systems, storm sewer networks, culverts, detention/retention facilities, channels.
• Prepare plan sheets, design details, profiles, cross-sections, and quantity takeoffs.
• Develop grading and drainage layouts and coordinate utilities within design models.
• Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, utility providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support field reviews, site data collection, and as-built documentation.
• Assist in preparing permit exhibits and agency submittal packages.
• Contribute to project deliverables while supporting schedules, budgets, and CAD standards.
• Collaborate with roadway, structural, geotechnical, and other disciplines.
