Job summary

The University of Alabama's Alabama Water Institute (AWI) CONSERVE Research Group seeks a Research Project Coordinator to support the development and management of research projects. The role acts as a liaison between project teams and internal/external contacts, may supervise students, and assists in creating promotional materials.

The CONSERVE group focuses on ecosystem restoration, rivercane conservation, GIS analyses, and cross-state collaboration across 12 states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher and some experience coordinating projects.
• Must have valid U.S. driver\'s license; driving eligibility per policy.
• GIS experience and proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities; detail-oriented and able to manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, management, and implementation of research projects.
• Supervise students and provide office support as needed.
• Create promotional materials and assist in developing other projects.
• Conduct fieldwork and collect ecological and GIS data under project leadership.
• Communicate with internal and external contacts and coordinate activities across partners.
