Job summary

FWI, delivering Great Lakes environmental research support, seeks a Research Coordinator/Scientific Project Facilitator to bridge science and action with NOAA GLERL researchers. You will help coordinate schedules, manage communications, and translate complex research into tangible impact.

This hybrid, full-time position focuses on modeling and prediction work related to lake levels, coastal flooding, and water quality, guiding decisions affecting millions in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, mathematics, operations, business, management, public administration, or related field from an accredited school.
• The ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
• 4+ years of professional and/or academic experience in related duties.
• Knowledge of and experience in creating presentations for a technical and non-technical audience.
• Knowledge of office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to project staff and partners, clearly defining objectives and outcomes.
• Develop project schedules with milestones and deliverables; track progress against goals.
• Assign project tasks and identify responsibilities.
• Serve as liaison between GLERL leadership and external partners and stakeholders.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies for project impacts.
• Maintain relationships across staff levels; monitor budgets and expenses.
• Support quality assurance reviews and maintain records.
• Assist with program reporting and project documentation updates.
• Plan and lead virtual and in-person meetings and workshops.
• Document meeting outputs and disseminate materials.
• Contribute to written content for external audiences and publications.
