Job summary

City of Harlingen Waterworks System is seeking a Water Quality Technician to monitor and maintain water quality throughout the distribution system. You will collect samples, assess field test results, and support regulatory compliance to protect public health.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years of related experience, plus a valid Texas Driver's License and Class C Distribution/S Surface Water licenses.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in water distribution operations or a related field.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential duties of the position may be considered.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.
• Class "C" Water Distribution and Class "C" Surface Water License required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine water quality monitoring and sample collection.
• Evaluate field test results and identify potential water quality concerns.
• Perform water distribution system flushing and maintain accurate records/reports.
• Support compliance with applicable TCEQ, EPA and HWWS water quality standards.
