Job summary

Environmental Science Associates (ESA) seeks an Environmental Scientist focused on water quality and watershed science to join our Southeast team. This junior-level role targets candidates with 2+ years of experience applying quantitative methods to ecological and hydrologic datasets, preferably in Florida’s freshwater and estuarine systems.

The position is exempt, full-time, and salaried, with a hybrid schedule (2-3 days/week) from Tampa and/or Orlando offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in ecology, environmental science, hydrology, water resources, or related natural science field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting or applied ecological science.
• Knowledge of water quality data analysis, QA/QC, statistical modeling, and GIS-based watershed evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze water quality and hydrologic data to support decision-making for coastal and freshwater environments.
• Support watershed evaluations, source water protection, restoration, and regulatory compliance projects.
• Develop technical materials describing methods and results for environmental management decisions or permit applications.
• Contribute to environmental reporting and data-driven summaries.
