Job summary

City of Austin is seeking a Water Quality Specialist/GIS Technician to manage GIS mapping for city infrastructure, including stormwater, sanitary sewer, streetlights, streets and trails. The role supports stormwater planning and MS4 permit compliance, and conducts inspections, reviews and enforcement of water quality standards.

The position requires an Associate’s degree in GIS or a related field plus two years of relevant experience, a valid driver’s license, and certifications for Construction

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in GIS, environmental studies, resource management, stormwater management or related field plus two years of relevant experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Design of Construction Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans and Construction Site Management certifications must be obtained within one year of hire.
