Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Laboratory Chemist in Leeds, AL to lead analytical testing of drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater. The role focuses on regulatory compliance, QA/QC, and instrument management, including HPLC and LIMS systems.

You will ensure data integrity, support audits, and mentor staff while maintaining lab certifications with ADEM and EPA. This permanent onsite position offers growth within a stable organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field required.
• At least 3 years of lab experience in environmental or regulatory settings.
• Experience testing drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater.
• Working knowledge of EPA methodologies and water quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee analytical testing of drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater.
• Operate and maintain HPLC systems and other instrumentation.
• Ensure data integrity and proper chain-of-custody.
• Maintain EPA and ADEM certifications; support audits.
• Develop and revise SOPs and QC procedures.
• Provide training and technical leadership to staff.
