Job summary

Culligan is seeking a Chemist I to join the Analytical lab, testing water samples from the Culligan Dealer Network. You will perform non-route analysis and help develop methods for detecting contaminants.

Responsibilities include handling samples, operating and maintaining lab equipment, recording results, performing wet chemistry, reviewing SOPs, and collaborating with internal/external customers. A 45,000–60,000 USD salary plus benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or related scientific discipline.
• 1+ years’ experience in a laboratory setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with laboratory quality systems and SOPs.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and chemical handling procedures.
• Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, receive, label, and track water samples in accordance with laboratory procedures.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and validate equipment.
• Operate laboratory equipment in support of testing.
• Report testing results in laboratory notebooks and prepare reports as necessary.
• Perform wet chemistry tests on samples.
• Review and create SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
• Perform inorganic analysis using Ion Chromatography (IC).
• Perform Mercury (Hg) analysis.
• Follow safe handling and disposal procedures for chemicals and laboratory waste.
• Participate in proficiency testing, audits, and quality assurance activities as required.
• May work with internal and external customers.
• Perform other tasks as needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or related scientific discipline
