Culligan is seeking a Chemist I to join the Analytical Lab in Rosemont, IL. You will test water samples and perform non-route analyses, developing methods for detection of contaminants in water.

The role emphasizes maintaining equipment, documenting results, and contributing to SOPs while ensuring safety and quality. A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field and at least 1 year in a lab are required.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or related scientific discipline.
• At least 1+ years’ experience in a laboratory setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with laboratory quality systems and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and chemical handling procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare, receive, label, and track water samples in accordance with laboratory procedures.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and validate equipment.
• Operate laboratory equipment in support of testing.
• Report testing results in laboratory notebooks and prepare reports as necessary.
• Perform wet chemistry tests on samples.
• Review and create SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
• Perform inorganic analysis using Ion Chromatography (IC).
• Perform Mercury (Hg) analysis.
• Follow safe handling and disposal procedures for chemicals and laboratory waste.
• Participate in proficiency testing, audits, and quality assurance activities as required.

The Chemist I works in the Analytical lab testing water samples sent in by the Culligan Dealer Network. This position will perform non-route analysis and develop methods for detection of contaminates in water.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, receive, label, and track water samples in accordance with laboratory procedures.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and validate equipment.
• Operate laboratory equipment in support of testing.
• Report testing results in laboratory notebooks and prepare reports as necessary.
• Perform wet chemistry tests on samples.
• Review and create SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
• Perform inorganic analysis using Ion Chromatography (IC).
• Perform Mercury (Hg) analysis.
• Follow safe handling and disposal procedures for chemicals and laboratory waste.
• Participate in proficiency testing, audits, and quality assurance activities as required.
• May work with internal and external customers.
• Perform other tasks as needed.

Target Salary Range

$45,000 - $60,000 per year. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for competitive benefits, including paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, disability benefits and 401(k).
