Job summary

City of Liberty, MO is seeking a Water Production Technician for the community’s water treatment plant. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work independently or in a team, and proficient with data entry and basic computer tasks.

Training is provided, and no prior experience is required. You will participate in quality control tasks, adjust chemicals, check pumps, perform maintenance, inspect systems, and review issues.

Qualifications

• Must obtain a State of Missouri water operator’s D license within 12 months of employment.
• Equivalent to a high school diploma required.
• Possession of valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Proactively support department functions ensuring community’s needs are being met.
• Observes and reports operating problems; performs corrective actions during shift.
• Reads gauges and meters, starts/stops equipment, and operates valves; sets chemical dosages and flow rates; operates PLCs and SCADA systems.
• Monitors and reports compliance with policies and procedures to department Staff.
• Prepares operation and maintenance logs and other records for safe, efficient operation of treatment systems.
• Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests on water at various stages.
• Maintains plant logs and communicates with supervisory personnel as needed.
• Attends safety and process control training sessions.
