Job summary

City of Eagan is seeking a Utility Maintenance Worker – Water Production to operate and maintain wells, water treatment facilities, reservoirs, and booster stations. You will monitor distribution and SCADA data, perform analyses, collect samples, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Minnesota Class A CDL with air brake and tank endorsements; required within 180 days of hire.
• Valid Minnesota Class C or higher Water Operator license; wastewater license preferred.
• Valid Minnesota Special Boilers license must be obtained within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate, and maintain the City’s wells, Class A water treatment plants, reservoirs, and booster stations
• Perform routine process control analyses
• Enter, review, and maintain inspection and maintenance records
• Monitor water distribution, sanitary collection, and storm conveyance systems via SCADA
• Takes water samples at various points in the raw water collection, treatment, and distribution system for chemical and biological analyses
• Respond to emergency callbacks after scheduled work hours
• Enter, review, and maintain inspection and maintenance records
• Perform cleaning, preventative maintenance, and repair of Public Works facilities and equipment
• Adhere to and implement all safety rules, regulations, and practices
• Promote and maintain good relationships between co-workers, supervisors, and the general public
• Work with or for other Public Works Divisions as assigned, including snowplowing and other maintenance activities
