Job summary

Sharyland Water Supply Corporation seeks a Plant Operator to safeguard drinking water by monitoring plant performance, running lab tests, and maintaining records. You will operate pumps and chemical systems, coordinate sample pulls, and support repair work on a rotating shift basis.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Texas driver’s license, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather. A Class D Water License is required within 1 year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience as a plant operator.
• Must have or obtain within 1 year: Class “D” Water License.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather and in potentially hazardous environments; lift/move 50+ lbs; frequent standing, walking, climbing, and stooping.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect treatment equipment (pumps, motors, chlorination/ammonia systems, chemical tanks).
• Support installation/inspection/repair work and respond to breakdowns and after-hours incidents while delivering professional customer service.
