Job summary

The Texas Water Company is seeking a Surface Water Treatment Operator to support operation and maintenance of surface water treatment facilities. The role includes monitoring, chemical handling, equipment upkeep, and documentation to ensure safe, compliant potable water production.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and progress toward Class C license. Strong mechanical aptitude and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with up to 6 months of relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain Class D Water Treatment Operator License; progress toward Class C.
• Must qualify for respirator use and demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
• Familiarity with general office software.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily production and chemical usage records.
• Performs laboratory tests for plant process control.
• Assists in preventive maintenance and equipment repair.
• Maintains operation records and daily logs.
• Operates forklifts and other machinery as needed.
• Participates in standby rotation and weekend/holiday work.
