Job summary

Sharyland Water Supply is seeking a Plant Maintenance Mechanic to protect reliable water service by keeping critical plant and station equipment operating safely and efficiently across multiple facilities.

You will troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, support installations, and perform preventive maintenance on pumps, motors, and related equipment, with a focus on documentation and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3+ years mechanical/repair experience.
• Working knowledge of mechanical maintenance practices, hazards, and safety precautions.
• Proficiency with tools/equipment; strength in at least one trade (e.g., mechanics, pipefitting, welding, machining, electrical).
• Microsoft Office; English instructions (bilingual English/Spanish preferred).
• Valid Texas Driver License; ability to obtain CDL Class B w/ Tank endorsement within 6 months if required; willingness to obtain TCEQ Water Operator D if requested.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate or fit parts using hand/power tools.
• Support building and equipment upkeep (including HVAC, carpentry, and painting).
• Operate heavy equipment as needed (e.g., skid‑steer, backhoe, forklifts).
• Complete work from written/oral work orders; maintain asset records and weekly maintenance reports in the AMP.
