Job summary

Requires a high school diploma with water treatment coursework, a Florida Class C Operator License, and a valid Florida driver’s license. NIMS training is mandatory; this is an on-site position with opportunities to improve plant efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or vocational school with water treatment coursework.
• Experience operating electrical and mechanical equipment in water/wastewater plants.
• Must possess Florida Class C Operator License and a valid Florida driver’s license.
• NIMS training at the appropriate level is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Operate water/wastewater plant equipment on assigned shift and monitor performance.
• Perform standard chemical analyses and adjust controls to ensure effective treatment.
• Inspect equipment and perform routine maintenance and servicing.
• Maintain detailed logs and prepare periodic operation summaries.
• Instruct/assist new operators on standard operating procedures.
• Respond to emergencies per the Emergency Operations Plan.
