The Village of Wilmette seeks a full-time Water Plant Operator in the Department of Water Management. The Water Plant operates 24/7 and relies on SCADA monitoring, filtration, purification, and pumping equipment to supply the community.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three years of experience in operation and maintenance of pumping station equipment, with a Class “A” Illinois Water Supply Operator’s license preferred (or obtained within two years).

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three years of experience operating and maintaining power or pumping station equipment or equivalent.
• Knowledge of boilers, switches, circuit breakers, motors and pumps preferred.
• Computer, plumbing, mechanical and electrical experience is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Operate and monitor water treatment equipment, SCADA system, and adjust controls of valves and pumps.
• Perform basic water analysis and maintain records.
• Install, remove and repair water plant mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment.
• Work rotating shifts and participate in on-call program if selected.
