Job summary

PRIDE Industries is seeking a Water Plant Manager to oversee treatment, collection, distribution and daily operations of water facilities. You will ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and manage a skilled team of operators.

The role requires seven years in water plant operations with supervisory experience, and relevant licenses/certifications. A strong emphasis on safety, budget control and regulatory reporting is essential.

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience in water plant operations including five years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge and understanding of applicable water regulations.
• Familiarity with Federal, State and Local Rules and Regulations pertaining to public water systems.
• Ability to estimate time and materials common to the trade.
• Ability to develop capital projects to improve plant operations and treatment methods and equipment.
• Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their professional development, administer performance management and disciplinary processes effectively, and address employee relations appropriately.
• Ability to supervise and develop assigned team to meet production/service goals while adhering to safety policies and rules.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral; able to present to senior management and customers.
• Strong leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem solving and analytical abilities.
• Customer service skills.
• Advanced computer literacy including word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software.
• Knowledge of business English, vocabulary, spelling, and punctuation.
• Mathematical skills applying fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

Responsibilities

• Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules and procedures for systems maintenance.
• Ensures plant and operators comply with regulations through testing and meticulous recordkeeping.
• Supervises employees and develops a competent, motivated team.
• Establishes communication with federal agencies, customers and local councils.
• Maintains budgetary guidelines and assists in capital and operations budgets.
• Maintains a safe work environment and ensures equipment is in proper condition.
• Develops, maintains and submits regulatory compliance reports.
• Acts as a technical resource to field personnel.
• Reviews work to ensure compliance with instructions.
• Participates in departmental meetings and other activities.
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
