Job summary

The Honolulu Board of Water Supply, Water System Operations Division, is seeking a Water Plant Maintenance Mechanic to install, repair, maintain, and overhaul a variety of water pumping plant and related systems equipment.

You will service pumps and motors, inspect equipment, and assist with electrical/electronic device maintenance. Positions require working around high voltage and heavy machinery, with good safety practices required.

Qualifications

• US citizen, national or permanent resident or eligible for unrestricted employment.
• Experience/training in repairing and overhauling pumping plants or rotating machinery.
• Ability to perform maintenance and repair of electrically operated pumps and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, and overhaul water pumping equipment and plant machinery.
• Service pumps and motors, including deepwell turbine and horizontal centrifugal units.
• Inspect and test pumping plant equipment.
• Assist with installation, maintenance, overhaul and repair of electrical and electronic devices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
