Job summary

The Lansing Board of Water and Light is seeking a Water Production Maintenance Mechanic to perform maintenance on pumps, basins, and wellfield equipment. The role requires hands-on work with welding, threading, and machine shop tasks in a high‑safety environment.

Candidates should have multi‑skilled maintenance experience, be able to operate heavy equipment and read blueprints, and be willing to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Journey Worker/maintenance experience required.
• Minimum three years of plant maintenance experience.
• Welder qualification certificates preferred.
• Experience with pumps, chemical feed systems, valves, conveyors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain water production equipment including pumps, compressors and chemical feeders.
• Read blueprints and manuals to repair, align and fabricate parts.
• Operate lifts and welding tools; set up service rigs and well equipment.
