Job summary

City of Greensboro, NC seeks an Electronics Process Technician to maintain electronic and process control systems across water treatment facilities and distribution networks. You will troubleshoot analog/digital systems, maintain radio and SCADA equipment, and support instrumentation and sensors integral to water quality and system performance.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical fields.
• Two-year trade school in related fields or military electronics experience is acceptable.
• Certified Control Systems Technician Level I and electrical license are preferred within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant and distribution system electronic processes and equipment.
• Troubleshoot analog and digital electronic systems.
• Maintain radio transmission and communications systems.
• Work with water quality instrumentation and process monitoring equipment.
• Maintain instrumentation and sensors for level, pH, temperature, residuals, flow.
• Support SCADA and other computer-based process control systems.
• Perform mechanical and electrical duties to sustain reliable process control.
• Troubleshoot and maintain pumps, motors, wiring, lighting, chemical systems, valve actuators.
• Work with medium- and low-voltage electrical systems.
• Diagnose equipment issues and restore operation.
• Collaborate with Water Resources operations, maintenance, engineering, and staff.
